A MOTORCYCLE and van have been "100 per cent destroyed" during a crash this morning.

Emergency services rushed to a stretch of the A31 at Picket Post following a crash at around 3.20am.

Both vehicles were 100 per cent destroyed, according to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services.

An ambulance crew attended and police were also on the scene.

Meanwhile, the A31 eastbound was closed with motorists urged to take alternative routes.

A crew from Ringwood Fire Station helped by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service put out the burning vehicles.

The stop message came in at 4.20am and the A31 has since reopened.
