Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here this week talking about audio books.

It’s something I Emily, decided to give audio books a go. What I found is that there are loads to choose from. When you sign up you get credits. I found some books are free, some I can buy with credits and some you have to pay for, which I have done.

I’d heard about these audio books when I was reading paper books, which I don’t do now, and have already downloaded some really good books.

One I’ve listened to is about evacuees. It tells the story of Shirley who travels on a train to the country to stay with families there, because her Mum has to stay in town. The school children in the country tease her, which isn’t very nice as she misses her parents. I feel very sorry for her. I like the book because it’s very descriptive, such as the way the author describes Shirley’s suitcase, her clothes and the books she reads.

I really enjoy listening to these books and making up images in my head of what the characters look like. I don’t want to watch these books on TV as think it would spoil the images, and I’d probably stop listening. When I’m downstairs with Mum I listen on headphones but in my bedroom I listen on a Bluetooth speaker, which I prefer.

I like it best when it’s quiet and I can really get into the story and imagine all the things being said. These times are very relaxing. I recommend audio story books to anyone as it’s a calm, relaxing and easy way to enjoy books.

I, William, am so impressed by what Emily’s said, that I’m going to join Amazon so I can listen to audio books too!
