THE popular Dumble Bimble is going virtual this year.

This annual event is put on by The Royal Manor of Portland Athletic club in memory of club members Alan and Andrew Dumble who both lost their lives to cancer.

Organiser Jan Camp said: "There are several ways that you can take part virtually in this.

"We are suggesting that you do this in the weeks between August 9 and September 6 at a time that suits you.

"If you wish to do your own thing then you can either walk/run five-miles or, the one most suitable for children and families, a 2k event."

The suggested amount is £5 for adults and £2 for children (under 16).

However you can donate any amount all of which will go to Weldmar Hospicecare.

Cards N Celebrations in Easton have kindly said that they will accept cash or cheques (Weldmar Hospicecare Trust) in a sealed envelope. You can also drop/post any donations to Jan Camp, 12, Mead Bower, Southwell. Portland DT5 2DZ.

You can donate on line royalmanorac.co.uk Or you can go to timingmonkey.co.uk/virtual/DumbleBimble2020

If you choose this method you will be able to print off a number and, if you wish, after completing your task will be able to enter your time and print of a certificate. Again the suggested amount is £5 for adults and £2 for children.

Jan added: "As we all know the hospice, like many other charitable organisations, are suffering financially as a result of the pandemic and it will be great to hand over a sizeable amount to them.

"Many of you support this race in other ways, by donating prizes or buying raffle tickets. Should you wish to donate again you can leave money in the card shop.

"Please do whatever you can in whatever way you can to support this very worthwhile cause.

"Remember to follow the government guidelines."
