Police are appealing for information after a play park was damaged.

A gate was ripped off and beer bottles were left behind by the vandals. All of the coronavirus warning signs were ripped out of the ground.

A spokesman for Dorchester Police said: "There has sadly been a report of criminal damage at Puddletown Play Park over the evening of Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July.

"A resident of the village found the damage early Sunday morning. All the Covid signs by the play park ripped from the ground and ripped off the gate, as well as the dog walking signs. There were also beer bottles left all round the benches.

"It is important that if people observe or hear any anti-social behaviour that they report it at the time it is occurring. Subject to police resources officers could attend. If due to operational demand officers are not available immediately the area would be noted for future patrols."
