DRIVERS parking badly at a popular Dorset beach and beauty spot have been slapped with fines during a police crackdown.
Officers from Purbeck Police visited Studland yesterday and described drivers as 'wacky racers', with a 'park where you like' attitude.
It will have been an expensive day for the worst offenders: as well as police officers issuing tickets, council parking attendants also handed out parking fines.
Commenting shortly afterwards, a police spokesman said: "Today saw the return of the Wacky Racers to Studland with the 'park where you like' attitude.
"Fortunately I had restocked my ticket books since last time and got busy practicing my signature whilst issuing some financial education to the worst offenders.
"This was in addition to the many (many) tickets handed out by the council's parking attendants."
