CELEBRATIONS are under way at several Barratt and David Wilson Homes developments in Dorset as the five-star housebuilder receives a special award for wildlife.

The RSPB has recognized the efforts it has made to embrace wildlife in the area with a Wildlife Challenge Gold accolade, after Barratt Homes set to work creating a haven for the natural world in the gardens of its show homes.

Among the developments involved include Barratt Homes’ Lakeside Walk in Hamworthy and the dual-branded Canford Paddock in Poole and Quarter Jack Park in Wimborne.

"As business resumes across our developments, it is vital for us to ensure that we need to ensure the long-term sustainability of our communities. We’ve worked very hard to ensure those who buy our homes have a wonderful place in which to put down roots - but we also consider the wildlife residing here" said sales director, Tammy Bishop.
