A CHARITY is cutting toenails at its newly reopened Dorchester clinic and its Weymouth shop.
Age UK North, South & West Dorset (NSWD) has reopened their site at Rowan Cottage and are offering a toenail cutting service for older people.
Older people often have difficultly with cutting their nails, resulting in discomfort and difficulty walking.
Sarah Frigot, operations manager at Age UK NSWD, said: “Many older people have difficulty taking care of their feet due to issues with Arthritis and hard toenails.
“During lockdown, many older people struggled with their mobility due to painful feet.
“Age UK are pleased to be gradually re-opening this vital service - starting in Weymouth and Dorchester.”
A 30 minute session costs £20, along with an initial one-off purchase of £16 for a personal nail clipper set.
All staff are fully trained and are operating in a clinical coronavirus secure environment for the safety of customers and colleagues.
Clinics are held from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
