YOUR article on the Ironman taking place in Weymouth has caused me to write a letter to the press for the first time.
I think it is totally irresponsible to allow this to go ahead. All other sports have to play with no spectators, so how does the council intend to stop people turning out to watch? We have been lucky here in Dorset with a low number of cases of Covid-19 but this could put a stop to that.
It is my opinion that money is being put before our safety, so I call on the council to cancel this year’s event.
