A motorcycle rider has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas.
Drivers were warned of delays as the road was closed in the westbound direction.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.31am on Monday August 10 to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas.
"Officers are in attendance, along with the ambulance service. The road is being closed westbound."

In an update police have now confirmed that the road has been reopened.
"The rider was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service," the spokesman added.
