A MOUNTAIN biker crashed on a steep cliff path.

Emergency services were called to help the injured rider at Furzy Cliff in Weymouth last night.

A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The team was tasked at 19:31 to a mountain bike who had failed to negotiate the steep descent path below the Spy Glass pub on Furzy Cliff.

"Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked. 

"Casualty care was given by those first on scene.

"A doctor holidaying in the area offered her services and gave the casualty a full assessment.

"Paramedics administered pain relief and treated the casualty for a suspected broken collarbone.

"After treatment, the casualty felt well enough to walk with assistance back up the path to the awaiting Ambulance for onwards transportation to Dorchester Hospital."
