Here's the second of our New Arrivals pages this week.

Not to be outdone by yesterday’s little bundles of joy, these eight new arrivals are showing us their best side and looking adorable at the same time!

We've got some gorgeous babies whose parents are showing them off this week. There's also a very cute big brother getting in on the act!

Shannon tells us: "I had an extreme case of Vasa Previa, he was due to be born via planned C section at 34 weeks. He ended up being born via Emergency C section at 32 weeks. He was named Henry, born at 14:36 on the 2nd June 2020 at Dorset County Hospital. He spent a week in portsmouth NICU and is now back at Dorset County Hospital to finish his recovery. He has done amazingly well and is getting big and strong by the day. His big brother couldn't wait to meet him!"

Dorset Echo:

Isaac Hubert Lee Wakefield, born May 1at DCH weighing 7lb 3oz to Natalie Louise Wakefield and Adam Steven George Wakefield of Blandford.

Natalie tells us: "I was induced at Dorchester Maternity Unit. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, I had to arrive at the unit alone and started the induciton process by herself. The midwives were incredibly supportive and 6 hours later her waters were broken and Adam was allowed to the unit. The midwife kept 2 metres away when she was able to, but the care was never sacrificed. Isaac was born in the water 5 hours later - happy and healthy. Adam was able to stay that night as there was a room free but we were advised to leave the room as little as possible. The following morning we had breakfast made for us so we could remain in our room. Isaac was seen by the midwife, Dr and Health Visitor that morning and we were given the all clear to go home that afternoon."

Dorset Echo:

Iziayah-Neil Cowan, born May 5 at home in Weymouth weighing 6lb 6oz to Eboni Cowan and Jake Weir

Eboni tells us: "With the pandemic going on around us I decided to have a home birth, due to the fear of going into hospital. This was my first baby with a Labour of 26 hours, I was thankful to have him at home becuase I got to have my family around me. I don’t think I could of done it without them or the home birth team either, that I am thankful for too. It will be a great story to tell him when he’s grown up about how he was born in such an uncertain time, forever holding the memories in our family home."

We’ll be back welcoming more New Arrivals on Monday, August 24, but if you have welcomed a newborn baby or know someone who has within the Dorset Echo, please point them in the direction of our extremely easy to fill out form, which you can find online here

Dorset Echo:

Savannah-Fae Eglon, born March 28 at DCH weighing 6lb 8oz to Georgia and Ross Eglon of Weymouth. Little sister to Jonah George Eglon, aged 2.

"Originally we opted for a homebirth but were taken into DCH on 27th March 2020 for induction due to a minor complication. Once on the ward, we were not allowed out again until it was time to leave. The experience was interesting but the staff at DCH were incredible! Everything was so relaxed and Savannah was delivered by Natalie and Liz at 4.37am on the 28th March 2020. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to everyone that assisted us during this crazy time! Amazing job done by all! The picture is of Savannah with her big brother Jonah (2 years old). Through all of this, it's the best bonding time ever!"
