There was a major emergency response after a woman was found injured in the road.
Police and the ambulance service were called to Bridport town centre just after 10pm to a report of a possible collision on North Street.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Officers attended and located an injured woman in the road.
"The road was closed while emergency services were on the scene. It was reopened at around 11.20pm.
"Enquiries revealed that the woman was not involved in a collision. She was treated by the ambulance service."
Dorset Police could not confirm how the woman was injured.
The South Western Ambulance Service confirmed 'crews treated a female patient following a call on Sunday at 10.08pm about a road traffic collision'.
It is not known if the woman was seriously injured.
