A TRACTOR was destroyed in a fire this morning, despite firefighters' best efforts.
Two fire crews were called to the scene in a field in Winterbourne Steepleton at 8.12am.
Fire crews from Dorchester and Bridport attended with a water carrier.
Four crew members wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and the fire was eventually put out at 9.48am, but the damage had been done and the tractor was completely destroyed.
