BOMB disposal experts have been called out to assess mustard gas kit.
The kit, believed to be from the Second World War, was handed into Weymouth police station by a member of the public who found it when they were clearing out a relative's belongings.
The tin had a label on it which said: "Anyone finding this case should take it at once, without opening it, to the nearest police station", which is what they did.
Bomb disposal experts were called to safely dispose of the tin.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Please remember anything like this, as interesting as a relic, is potentially very dangerous and should be disposed of carefully."
