A MOTORCYCLIST sustained serious injuries in a crash with a van.
Emergency services were called to reports of the collision on the B3351 Corfe Castle to Studland road shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening.
The incident involved a Suzuki motorbike and a Mercedes Sprinter van.
The biker, a Southampton man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is not thought to be life-threatening. The van driver did not sustain any injuries.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.05pm on Sunday, September 13, to reports of a serious injury collision on the B3351 Corfe Castle to Studland road involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a Mercedes Sprinter van.
"The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 60s and from Southampton – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
"The driver of the van was uninjured.
"The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. It was reopened at 8.55pm."
