A renowned Bridport artist who lost his studio in a devastating fire is now opening his new enterprise to the public.

Kit Glaisyer’s Bridport Contemporary Gallery on the ground floor of 11 Downes Street is open from 11am to 3pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays and shows examples of Kit’s recent painting, as well as a selection of works by other local artists, including painters Gerry Dudgeon, Peggy Cozzi and Boo Mallinson. Kit’s current paintings and commissions are also on display in his studio upstairs.

Kit’s new enterprise follows the loss of his studio after the fire at St Michael’s Studios two years ago, where he held Open Studios events over many years. The fire was devastating for many artists, but fortunately, several have now managed to get new studios on the St Michael’s Trading Estate.

His gallery is only open for two days a week because of the rest of the week he is busy working on his paintings and commissions.
