A MOTORCYCLIST was rushed to hospital after sustaining "serious injuries" in a collision on the A31 on Sunday.
Dorset Police and an ambulance were called to the crash involving an Audi A4 and a Triumph motorcycle between the Lake Gates roundabout and the Merley Bird roundabout near Wimborne.
Officers closed the road and drivers were advised to use alternative routes via the A349 / A35.
A police spokesman said: "At 11.49am, we were called by the ambulance service to assist with a collision near the A31 Lake Gate Roundabout.
"The collision involved an Audi A4 and a Triumph motorcycle.
"The rider of the motorcycle sustained a potentially serious injury and was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service.
"The vehicles were recovered and the road reopened at around 1.40pm."
