A POWER cut has left hundreds of homes on Portland without electricity today.
Energy supplier SSEN has apologised for the issue, caused by 'a fault' and said engineers were on site tryingto get the issue fixed as soon as possible.
The supplier confirmed that homes in the DT5 postcode were affected after a fault occurred on the network at 1.30pm, causing a loss of power to 681 customers.
Engineers have been able to restore power to customers in stages, the final customer was restored around 4.30pm this afternoon.
Meanwhile, investigations are now being carried out to determine the cause of the fault.
A SSEN spokesman said: “We would like to apologise to our customers affected by this afternoon’s power cut and thank them for their patience while our engineers worked to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.”
