The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Dorset increased by 19, official figures show.

Four more people tested positive in the Dorset Council area.

Public Health England figures show that 746 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Tuesday, up from 742 the same time on Monday.

However, the number of recorded coronavirus cases in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) increased by 15.

A total of 1,106 people had been confirmed as testing positive, up from 1,091.

The rate of infection in Dorset now stands at 197 cases per 100,000 people and 280 in he BCP area, far lower than the England average of 618.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 4,926 over the period, to 403,551.

Dorset's cases were among the 16,648 recorded across the South West, a figure which rose by 132 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
