A sixth pupil has tested positive for coronavirus at a Wimborne school.

Another year 10 pupil has returned a positive test, forcing 20 others in their bubble to self-isolate.

Liz West, CEO of Wimborne Academy Trust, said: “I can confirm that we have had a further confirmed case of Covid-19.

“It relates to a Year 10 student at Queen Elizabeth’s School.

“The student concerned and 20 others in their bubble have been asked to self-isolate.

“We are in constant contact with Public Health England which is emphasising the need for those who have had contact with a positive case to ensure they follow the self-isolation rules.

“We have strict measures in place at QE School to prevent the spread of the virus should it be introduced, and the system of keeping students in bubbles is working.”

Earlier this week, a year 10 pupil was confirmed as having coronavirus, forcing 40 pupils to self-isolate.
