A search was mounted after a woman went missing in Studland last night.
The police helicopter, an all-terrain police vehicle and Swanage coastguards all took part in the operation.
The woman, 69, had been reported missing after failing to return when expected from a hike. There was concern for her welfare.
She was found after several hours and told officers she had got lost. She was not hurt.
The all-terrain vehicle was also used by Purbeck Police for patrols last night following reports of anti-social behaviour on the beach.
