HELLO readers its Emily here this week chilling out after a very relaxed weekend. I would like to tell you what I have been up to.

So after having a day at home I decided I would like to go out with Mum and the dogs. So we put the dogs' harness on and clipped them into the car and went to Thorncombe Wood. When we got there the weather was still quite warm and very sunny.

We went on a walk towards Hardy's Cottage. It was a lovely walk. The sun was peeping through the trees which was nice. There were some dark parts of the woods and some very sunny parts. I like that mix of sunshine. As we walked towards the cottage (which was shut) we must have seen about 10 squirrels. There were lots of acorns on the floor where the squirrels have been and soon they will be burying their nuts for winter. The ground was very dry as we have had very little rain and the leaves were crispy and crunching under foot, which made a nice sound. We carried on walking into the woods as the walk wasn’t that long and we didn’t want to go home too soon.

We carried on and must have seen another 10 or so squirrels in the last part of our walk. It was lovely to watch them running up and down the trees and in the bushes and leaves. We sat a few minutes at the pond. It was quiet and very relaxed. The perfect surroundings and weather for such a nice day. We noticed the different colours on the trees and the leaves.

We didn’t see anyone on the walk until the end. It was very quiet, such a lovely walk. We will be returning later next year and probably take a picnic and sit near the pond.
