FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a deer trapped in rocks at West Bay.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "One appliance from Bridport was mobilised to West Bay for a small deer trapped in the rocks.
"Crews attempted to catch the animal but were unable to as the deer kept escaping through the small tunnels within the rock groyne.
"After consulting with the RSPCA officer it was decided to leave the animal which would more than likely makes its own way out once it felt safe."
The deer later made its escape along the beach to the surprise of beachgoers.
