A STRETCH of the A357 was closed this morning after a driver hit a telephone pole, causing it to fall into the road.
Police received the report at 6.41am this morning of the incident in Fiddleford, Sturminster Newton.
THE A357 was closed both ways at the bridge at Sturminster Newton.
Emergency services attended the scene and the driver was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The road has now been reopened.
