A WITNESS has come forward in relation to an alleged assault and theft of a mobile phone in Sherborne, police have this afternoon revealed.
Police launched a CCTV appeal for witnesses of the incident, which allegedly involved a 19-year-old man being assaulted and having his phone taken from him.
Following the appeal, a 17-year-old boy from Gillingham came forward and is assisting police with the investigation.
The incident was reported to have occurred at around 11:20pm on Saturday September 19 close to the White Hart Pub in Cheap Street, Sherborne.
The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for swelling to his head. He also sustained grazes to his shoulder and neck.
No arrests have currently been made.
