A MOTORCYCLE and car collided on a Dorset road, leading to some minor delays.

Emergency services were called to the crash, just off the A354 Monkton Hill near Dorchester, at 4.19pm today (Thursday, October 1).

A photograph taken at the scene shows a red motorcycle had flipped over as a result of the collision with people assisting at the scene. 

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said that were some minor injuries caused by the crash but no one was taken to hospital.

She said: "We were called at 4.19pm on Thursday, October 1 by the ambulance service to reports of a road traffic collision on the A354 Monkton Hill at the junction of Herringston Road involving a car and a motorcycle.

"The road traffic collision happened off the main road."

The road was clear at 5pm.
