DORSET has the most species of spider in the UK, new research reveals, and we want to see your pictures.
A number of readers have already sent in some brilliant pictures of spiders they have seen in their homes and gardens in Dorset and we want to see some more.
As we enter spider season, where the creepy crawlies head indoors to mate and avoid the coming cold weather, a lot of people across the county are noticing spiders in their homes and this is no surprise, as new research has revealed that Dorset has more species of spider than any other county in the UK.
The study, carried out by online broker Mojo Mortgages, revealed that Dorset has 483 different species of spider, putting it at the top of the list. In second place is Hampshire, with 478 species, followed by Surrey, with 461.
Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire have the lower number of spider species in the UK, each with just 356.
The study also found that one in four current homebuyers would not go ahead with a purchase if they saw a spider at a viewing, and that two thirds of people would look at moving house if they had a spider infestation.
Pest management consultant, Clive Boase, said: "Sightings of spiders often peak from September as males of many species reach adulthood and venture into homes in search of a mate, but we could be seeing a lot more than normal over the next month or two."

When advising people on how to reduce the number of spiders in their homes, a spokesman for Mojo Mortgage said: "We encourage people to vacuum regularly to remove spiders, get some conkers, remove noticeable webs, fill gaps, remove sheltering sites and deter all insects."
