POLICE are still trying to identify the body of a man found in Poole Park on Monday morning.

The body was discovered at 7.22am, near the the Ark cafe and children’s play area.

The death is not believed to be suspicious, according to Dorset Police.

Entrances to Poole Park were closed off and a cordon placed around an area of undergrowth so an investigation could take place.

The cordon was lifted at 2.20pm.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with information or who was in the area early on Monday morning to get in touch.

A police spokesman said: “More information will be provided in due course.

“There is nothing for the wider public to concern themselves with at this time.”

The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held at a date to be fixed.
