The tracks are currently being removed and many rail enthusiasts are unhappy about the heritage lines being ripped up amid safety concerns.
Recent coverage prompted Mat Tuck, who lives in Edington, Wiltshire, to get in touch. Mat has very kindly allowed us to use his videos of the Weymouth Quay Branch Line, captured during the 1990s.
He said: "It was 1994 and I was 19 at the time. I'm now 45!
"As a tourist to Weymouth myself, trains or no trains, (the line) is a curio which draws interest for visitors and adds a wonderful charm to the town rather than the awful trend of generic redevelopment like Bournemouth.
"It is a very sad loss."
As the removal project rolls on, we've been asking readers to send in their photographs of the work in progress.
