MOTORISTS are being warned to plan ahead as a Poundbury road is set to be closed for roadworks.

Dorset Council has announced it will close a 300-metre stretch of Peverell Avenue East for five days in order for the road to be resurfaced.

The road will be closed from its junction with Bridport Road to its junction with Woodlands Crescent from Monday, October 26 until Friday, October 30.

Residents have been made aware of the road closure and roadworks while signs about the roadworks will be placed in the area in advance.

A diversion route will be signposted in the area and motorists are advised to allow more journey time.

The diversion route bypassing the road closure will see drivers travel west on Peverell Avenue West towards Poundbury Farm Way.

Drivers will take the second exit on the roundabout onto Middle Farm Way/B3150 and follow onto the Bridport Road roundabout.
