A FURTHER 146 people have tested positive for coronavirus and two have died in Dorset, according to latest figures.

Figures released by the government show an extra 92 cases in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area and 54 more in the Dorset Council area.

Two deaths have been registered at Poole Hospital.

In BCP there have been 517 positive tests in the last seven days bringing the overall total to 2,247.

In Dorset there were 255 positive tests in the last week, giving a total of 1,231.

 The Government said that, as of 9am today, there had been a further 16,171 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 705,428.

The Government also said a further 150 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, as of today. This brings the UK total to 43,579.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 58,500 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
