A WOMAN was stretchered to safety after injuring her ankle on a coastal walk.
Lulworth Coastguards were paged at 16:32 yesterday afternoon.
A spokesman for the team said: "South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust had requested coastguard assistance involving a female, with an ankle injury, on Bindon Hill above Mupe Bay.
"Arriving at Mupe bay, the team located the lady, some 250m north on the SWCP with an ambulance crew and Lulworth Range Wardens.
"Her location was only accessible by foot, so the team walked in their rescue equipment to the foot of Bindon Hill, joining those already on scene.
"It was decided the best form of extraction would be via stretcher to the vehicle. Kimmeridge Coastguard were paged to provide additional support in carrying the lady across the harsh terrain.
"On their arrival, the casualty was carefully placed onto the stretcher and carried back to the vehicle.
"Range wardens then transported both ambulance crew and the lady back to the ambulance on the top of Bindon Hill. Kimmeridge and Lulworth were then stood down and returned to their stations."
