Here, proud petrol heads tell us about their passion for their cars and their motoring life. Today it’s the turn of Paddy Trim of Puddletown.

Paddy is certainly passionate about his classic British car - a Morris Minor. This beautiful car will be taken to shows in the future when coronavirus restrictions allow, but for now it’s wowing motorists when it’s driven on Dorset roads.

Here, Paddy tells us more about his beloved motor - and how not everyone in the family is so happy with it!

What vehicle/s do you own (model/year), and for how long?

A Morris Minor 1000 1957, four door owned for just about a month Why did you decide to buy this particular vehicle?

It’s just a lovely car, have always wanted to have one. And to enjoy it as often as possible.

What do you mainly use it for, and do you take it to shows or events?

Will be going to a show or two in the future hopefully but want to drive it at the weekends

What does your family think about your passion for vehicles?

My two boys love it. The wife is not so pleased about it but I think she’ll come around to liking it

Dorset Echo:

What was your first vehicle and why did you buy it?

My first car was a Morris 1800, paid £150 for it, insurance was £155 and my wage for a week before tax was £22.50, so I had to save up for a long time.

What is your dream vehicle and why?

My dream car would be any one of the cars that I owned back in late 70s

What do you think a car says about its driver?

I think that a car is what the driver thinks - whether it’s a work horse or a pleasure to own
