TICKETS have sold out for an "immersive" Halloween event which will see Weymouth's Nothe Fort taken over by zombies.

The Survival Zone event will see guests transported into the middle of a crisis, with Weymouth overwhelmed by the living dead.

Featuring actors and special effects, people will weave their way through the labyrinth of underground tunnels and passageways within Nothe Fort in a desperate bid to reach the impenetrable safety zone.

The event will be held between 5pm and 11pm on Saturday, October 24 until Saturday, October 31.

Lee Redwood, from Made to Measure Productions, said: "We have completely sold out now, so will be running a waiting list for cancellations."

"We’ve had a huge amount of interest in the event - far surpassing our expectations and, following our rehearsal last night in the tunnels at the fort, we cannot wait to open to the public!

Dorset Echo: Inside the Survival Zone Inside the Survival Zone

"Survival Zone will be chilling, thrilling, full of suspense and a truly terrifying walk through the labyrinth of tunnels underneath Nothe Fort - our Zombies are waiting to scare the hell out of you!"

The Halloween event has been organised by Dorset companies The Twins FX and Made to Measure Productions, with the assistance of award-winning Karl Ingham, who designed and built the largest scare experience in London

Organisers say the entire experience has been designed with the current health guidelines in mind with a number of COVID-19 measures in place.

Performers and staff will wear face coverings while onsite and the masks have been integrated into the actors’ costumes.

Social distancing will be practiced at all times and temperature checks will take place on arrival.

Dorset Echo:

A ‘Covid Guarantee’ will be in place where full refunds will be available for any evening that has to be cancelled, but the booking fee is non-refundable.

The ‘Zombie Scare Package’ is £20 per ticket. Organisers were planning on selling a ‘VIP Ultimate Scare’ package which would have been after 10pm but have cancelled to adhere to government guidelines.

Bookings are open from tomorrow (Thursday, October 1) online through https://www.survivalzone.co.uk/, with timed booking sessions. Bookings are limited to six people per group.
