A DORSET-based care provider has contributed to a national committee advising on the future of social care.
Agincare, a national care service provider, has provided insight to the Health and Social Care Select Committee 'Social care: Funding and Workforce' report, led by former health secretary Jeremy Hunt.
The committee examines the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Health and Social Care.
Mel Cairnduff, a Weymouth home care worker, told the committee about her experience of working in home care, particularly during the coronavirus outbreak.
After hearing evidence from a number of witnesses, committee members have called for £7 billion a year of investment in social care by the year 2023/24.
Chief executive officer of Agincare, Raina Summerson, said: "We are passionate about being able to deliver good care and are therefore pleased that the committee members listened to the compelling evidence from the Agincare team and other industry experts."
