A NEW food bank is to open its doors in Chickerell and residents are being asked to help with donations.
The facility will be based at St Mary's Church, North Square, and will provide much-needed food for families struggling through no fault of their own due to redundancy, divorce, sickness, benefit payment delays or other financial issues caused by the pandemic.
Organisers are calling for donations of non-perishable, in-date food such as tinned meat and fish, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, pasta, rice, squash and longlife milk.
Items can be left at the rectory (next door to the Turks Head pub), or at 56 Lilly Lane or 15 Marhallsay Court, or at Chickerell Primary Academy. For more details call 07872 861523 or email placemarys4gmail.com
