HI READERS, it’s Emily and William here this week. I, Emily have recently got back from a lovely week's break in York.

I had been due to go on a cruise with Mum, which was obviously cancelled, but we decided we still wanted to go away for a break. After some thought we agreed to go to York, as we’d never been there and people say it’s amazing.

As it has also recently been my 30th birthday, the break was partly to celebrate that too.

So, after a long drive up there, we arrived at our Air b&b. It was a lovely flat, right on the River Ouse. The room I chose looked out over the river and the view was amazing.

We were there for three whole days and packed a lot in. My highlights included the Viking Museum, which was really informative. There was a ride you could go on and see all the activities the Vikings used to get up to, which even had accompanying smells! Another great day was taking the train to Scarborough. For me train rides are always exciting and it was a lovely day to explore a new place. There was a really steep hill to climb but the view from the top was amazing.

We enjoyed a lot of good food, most of it unhealthy, and I was really shocked to see that I had still lost weight when I got back. However we did walk about 6-9 miles each day, so I must have been quite hungry!

Now I’m home, I’ve been thinking I’d love to visit another time and do the things I missed. Readers, I highly recommend going to York if you’ve not been as there is loads to see and do, and it’s a fabulous short break!
