Weymouth lifeboat volunteers rescued a person who fell ill aboard a cruise ship anchored in Weymouth Bay.
Just before 11pm last night, a 43-year-old crew member of the cruise ship Marella Discovery fell ill with suspected meningitis.
As soon as the call came in, Weymouth lifeboat rushed out to help get the casualty to an ambulance waiting on shore.
The team managed to safely transport the person back to Weymouth Harbour by 11.45pm and they were handed over into the care of the paramedics.
