A beloved pet was a very special guest at a couple’s wedding.

Sarah and Colin Garrett, both 49, got married at Dorchester Register Office on October 19 with their dog Rutzen looking on.

Heather and Sean Garrett were witnesses for the couple’s big day.

A belated wedding reception is planned for the summer.

The newly weds went away for a couple of days but were due to have their honeymoon in November, but unfortunately due to the national coronavirus lockdown it was cancelled.

They have rebooked it for February 2021.

Dorset Echo:

This was Sarah and Colin’s second attempt at getting married - they had their initial wedding date in May cancelled because of the first national lockdown.

Sarah tells us: “After having our wedding cancelled in May due to lockdown it was just so nice to be able to go ahead with it in October (although there were restrictions).

“What made it special was that we were allowed to take our dog Rutzen. Thank you to Dorchester registry office and Dorset Council for everything they have done for making our and other people’s ceremonies happy and safe.”
