A FUNDRAISER spent a day running the equivalent distance of a marathon - in laps around her flat - to raise hundreds of pounds for the NHS.
Self-isolating following a trip to Greece, Rebecca Danicic decided she would spend her time indoors productively by taking on a marathon from her West Bay flat.
The 29-year-old spent five hours covering the distance last Saturday, a total of 2,635 laps taking her back and forth from the lounge to the patio.
Rebecca, who has recently moved to West Bay from London, was able to raise £650 which will go towards NHS services.
She said: “I actually really enjoyed the run, it really cheered me up. It was a great antidote for the boredom of self-isolation and raised money for a great cause.
“It was fun, but I have to admit I’m looking forward to doing the next one out in the open and getting a bit of a change of scenery.
“It was great to raise money for the NHS after the year they’ve had, getting resources to these people who will be very busy and overworked over winter.”
The money will go towards counselling sessions for NHS staff along helping to provide other resources.
