THESE pictures show clubbers in Dorset in the 1990s.

Nightclubbing had become a big business at the time and we simply couldn't get enough of it.

Super-clubs were emerging across the country including The Ministry Of Sound in London, The Hacienda in Manchester and Cream in Liverpool.

The 1990s saw a major shift in club culture with the rise in popularity of house, trance, techno and electronica music.

Bournemouth had its own answer to these large-scale clubs in the form of The Academy - later The Opera House - which included nights from Fantasia, Wild Turkey and Parhelion.

In 1997, the dance night Slinky was first held at the 1,800-capacity venue and went on to become a regular attraction until its final event on October 5, 2013.

These pictures show clubbers at various venues in the area in the 1990s including Berlins, The Manor, Colonnades and more.
