POLICE officers seized a car with no insurance whilst out patrolling in Dorset.

Using an Automatic Number Plate Recognition, officers were alerted to the fact that a Peugeot had no insurance.

Further checks confirmed that the MOT had also expired October last year.

According to officers, the driver of the vehicle stated he was going to get it insured but "hadn't got round to it."

The vehicle was seized and a fixed penalty was issued.

A Driver Awareness Scheme was issued by police to a driver who did not stop for a red light.

Dorset Police's post on Facebook said: "Another driver decided that he didn't have time to stop for a red light. I'm sure that the elderly couple who had stepped onto the crossing thought different."
