VOLUNTEERSÂ are needed to help GPs administer the coronavirus vaccine in Dorchester.
Vaccine clinics are being run by local GPs at Dorchester's Atrium Health Centre on Weymouth Avenue. Clinics will run from 8am until 8pm, starting from Saturday January 16.
Volunteers are now urgently needed to help with the smooth running of the programme - the plan is to form a bank of willing volunteers who can be called upon for help as the vaccination scheme is rolled out.
General tasks include:
- Directing traffic in the car park and across the road
- Welcoming and sign posting people into the waiting area
- Reminding people of social distancing guidelines
- Ensuring face coverings are worn
- Directing people to hand sanitising stations
- Generally assisting staff to ensure that the clinic runs as smoothly as possible
Appropriate training, ID badges and PPE will be provided, though you can use your own if you prefer.
Shifts will be two hours, plus arrival 15 minutes before start time.
If you can help out, register as soon as possible by emailing middorset.pcn@dorsetgp.nhs.uk - please provide your name and a contact phone number.
