POLICE patrolling beauty spots around Dorset have said that they were “very happy" to see the carpark at Durdle Door empty.
This comes a few days after a group of people travelled more than 170 miles from Coventry to Durdle Door, despite the national lockdown has been slammed.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed two people were issued with fixed penalty notices for breaching Covid-19 regulations on the morning of Saturday January 9.
In a Facebook post uploaded at 10.56am this morning, Purbeck Police said: “Very happy to see that Durdle Door carpark is empty too.
“We will continue to patrol these areas through the day.”
Chief constable of Dorset Police James Vaughan has also warned that officers will move more swiftly in enforcement against those who breach Covid-19 regulation.
Drivers that are detected as being from far outside the county area, such as London and the Midlands, will be questioned, the force has confirmed.
