A WOMAN got behind the wheel whilst two times the legal limit after finding out her husband was cheating and that a friend died - before crashing into another car, a court heard.

Dorota Wojtowicz, 54, of Mixen Lane, in Dorchester, admitted to driving her black Vauxhall Astra whilst over the alcohol limit in Lucetta Lane around 7pm on June 16.

Weymouth Magistrates' Court heard yesterday how Wojtowicz had a breath level of 67 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit in England is 35 mcg.

Duty solicitor Fiona Larkin told the court the defendant had drunk after finding out a friend had died in her home country of Poland, and that she discovered her husband was having an affair.

Wojtowicz told the court she got behind the wheel to re-park her vehicle, which was not parked properly outside her home. As she pulled out, she crashed into another moving vehicle near her home, the court heard.

Wojtowicz was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £320, and told to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85 - bringing the total to £439, which she must pay within 28 days.
