I live very near the Corn Exchange, where Dorchester Town Council plans to install the biomass boiler.
I read with interest the letters from Brian Parkhurst, Mike Joslin and Dr Lambert printed in the Echo before Christmas.
If I understand them correctly, it appears that the boiler will emit harmful Nitrogen Dioxide and particulates into the atmosphere, to the detriment of those living nearby, whilst achieving nothing in terms of carbon reduction, unless one pretends that carbon released by burning wood doesn’t count.
And all at considerable expense.
Is this really what Dorchester Town Councillors want?
