Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here talking about time.

We can’t quite believe we are already in 2021, how fast last year went, as did last week and even today!

We got thinking about why we both feel time flies by so quickly. Maybe it’s a combination of keeping busy with work and enjoying being in the moment with other things in our day.

We wonder, and worry, how much harder it might be for people not working or stuck at home. We think we’d find the days much longer.

We both believe if you are engaged in something, the time can whizz by. If we were home all day, we’d do our best to find different things to do like housework, cooking, watching tv, zoom calls with friends, listen to music, puzzles, games, walks and anything else to distract us.

We might have some days staying in bed all day and binge watching tv!

It makes us feel really grateful and humble we have jobs, especially as we both get bored quickly if we don’t have things going on.

For example today we have both been working and are now on a zoom call with Laura to write this column.

Afterwards we’re on a Friendship Club quiz online with Jo, and in between will eat dinner.

We also appreciate every moment of our day, and think it helps to stay in the moment rather than worrying or thinking about the past or future.

We reckon this year, however hard it might be covid wise, will shoot by too if we stay engaged and busy.

Readers, whatever your situation, busy or dead bored and fed up, we are thinking of you, and hope you are keeping safe and well.
