MULTIPLE sets of roadworks will take place on a key Dorset route in the coming days with delays expected.

Travel Dorset service has reported that Dorset Council workers will be carrying out surface repairs and tree works on the A37 over the next few weeks.

The first set of works will see potholes and other minor surface defects repaired on A37 in Grimstone on Thursday, January 28. Stop/go boards will be used to control traffic.

A lane closure will be in place on two sections of the A37 on weekdays from 9am to 3pm on Monday, February 1 to Friday, February 12 to allow works to be carried out on trees.

This is will be in place between the junctions for A356 and Long Ash Service Station as well as between 370 metres north of Long Ash Service Station to approximately 30 metres north of Grove Lodge.

Just over the Dorset-Somerset border, traffic lights will be in place on the A37 in Closworth, between the junction with Prowles Cross and Gallica Bridge, on Tuesday, February 8 and Thursday, February 11 during 9.30am to 3.30pm.

BT maintenance staff will be in the area installing new fibre cabling and jointing for new customer connections in the existing underground duct network.
