It was with horror and dismay on reading the January 27 Echo that I saw the proposed plans for North Quay.
Why do we have to keep building “pastiche” developments?
Weymouth is rapidly becoming Poundbury-on-Sea.
It’s a pity Weymouth and the Civic Society don’t seem to have the imagination to build modern day developments rather than harking back to examples of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Take a look at Weymouth Community Fire Station, tucked away in Radipole Lane, for a fantastic example of decent, purposeful modern design. It can be done.
