A WOMAN was 'reunited' with Alan Carr after the stand-up comedian visited Weymouth this week.

Amy Frost, aged 19, from Portland had a quick catch up with the Chatty Man show host, who joined a plethora of celebrities on Custom House Quay as part of filming A League of Their Own's new UK Road Trip.

Ms Frost first met the comedian, who is originally from Weymouth, in 2018 at British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival in a brief video exchange, which at the time she posted on social media and would eventually go viral.

She said: "The first time I met him I think he was coming back from Island Disc Records on Radio 2.

"I was at Hyde Park and I heard his very distinct voice.

"So I got my camera out and filmed him on his bike and he asked me if I was watching Bruno Mars on stage - the rest is history really.

"I posted the video on my Twitter and it blew up and went viral - I think probably because it was so random."

After finding out Mr Carr was in town on Monday for the new series of Sky's A League of Their Own: UK Road Trip, the 19-year-old raced down to Weymouth Harbour where she was reunited with the popular show host.

"He didn't recognise me straight away until I mentioned the video, and then he said 'we're reunited'."

Mr Carr was joined on the day by football pundit Jamie Redknapp, former England cricket captain Freddie Flintoff, Michelin-starred chef Marco Pierre-White, and actor Tom Davis.

The Portland woman even had time to grab a quick socially-distanced 'selfie' with Mr Redknapp.

Ms Frost, who is a keen festival-goer, said she cannot wait to be able to go to music events again once the Covid-19 pandemic subsides.

"I work at The Swan in Weymouth town centre, but I'm currently furloughed," she said.

"I can't wait to go back to work and music festivals, and hopefully meet up with other celebs."
